The charming and challenging Spa-Francorchamps circuit will host this weekend (5-7 June) the fourth out of seven season’s venues of Formula Renault 2.0 ALPS. Top dog in Belgium will still be Jack Aitken. The young Brit racing for Koiranen GP, after the first three successful weekends in Imola, Pau and Red Bull Ring, is about to take the challenge with a 23 and a 26 point-lead over his team-mates Jake Hughes and Stefan Riener. The team led by Afa Heikkinen will also line up the Brazilian Bruno Baptista and the German Philip Hamprecht.

After having seized his first win of the season just two weeks ago in Austria, the Russian Matevos Isaakyan will also do his best to win. As will do his JD Motorsport team-mate the Brazilian Thiago. The two are fourth and fifth overall so far.

As usual there will be some novelties in Spa as well with two wild cards : Alessio Lorandi and Mahaveer Raghunathan. The first will debut with GSK Grand Prix, which will also line up the Russian Denis Bulatov and the Italian Daniele Cazzaniga. The Indian Raghunathan will instead drive one of the Cram Motorsport cars which will field three more cars for the Russian Vasily Romanov, the Swiss/Italian Matteo Ferrer and the American Travis Jordan Fischer. Regularly on track there will also be the Australian James Allen (Arta Engineering) and the Ukrainian Danylo Pronenko (BVM Racing).

The weekend’s schedule will foresee tomorrow, Friday, the free practice session at 11 and the Q1 set for 16.01. Race 1 (25’ plus a lap) will start Saturday at 10.55 while in the afternoon Q2 will follow at 15.35. Race 2 green light will be on Sunday at 10.45.
