Starting in Eurocup Formula Renault 2.0, then in Formula Renault 3.5 Series, Kevin Magnussen has added his name to the long list of World Series by Renault drivers to have earned a slot on the Formula One start grid. Today he celebrates his 23rd birthday.

The son of the F1 driver Jan Magnussen, Kevin Magnussen started out in karting, making the move to single-seater racing in 2009, finishing runner-up to António Félix da Costa in the Northern European Cup and finishing seventh in the Eurocup, driving for Motopark Academy.[3]

After two seasons in F3, he came back in World Series by Renault with Carlin to compete in Formula Renault 3.5 Series (7th, 1 victory). In 2013, with DAMS, he won the title.

The next season, Magnussen drove for McLaren F1.

The World Series by Renault team wishes him a very happy birthday.
