As we continue to grow as a team, we are looking for a highly talented individual to join the Engineering Team as a Digital Mock-up Engineer. Digital Mock-up Engineer – The Role Reporting to the Head of Engineering Build Process; this newly created role will be responsible for Digital Mock-up (DMU), liaising with many departments to ensure the DMU is of high quality, accurate and up-to-date. This will involve continuously developing and improving the methodology and techniques in terms of end to end efficiency, precision and pro-active fault detection. Some of the key relationships will be developing DMU integration into the Engineering Office, while demonstrating a seamless approach to analysis and supporting our designers to produce a best in class DMU. This role will also be responsible for the integration of the Power Unit (PU) DMU with our PU colleagues, ensuring that the quality of both PU and Chassis DMU are complementary.This role will lead and develop our kinematic and static clash detection programme, promoting the tools and integrating these into the Engineering Office. As well as leading the development of our mass, weight distribution and inertia tracking.Naturally this role will involve a close collaboration with the Head of Reliability to improve our pro-active reliability initiatives.A positive approach to seeking the information required will be necessary. This will often require interaction with Engineers across many disciplines and technical sites. As such a personable approach is key. Digital Mock-up Engineer – The PersonWe are looking for an individual who is degree level educated in either Mechanical or Automotive Engineering or has a minimum of 6 years F1 car build experience. A minimum of 3 years of design experience is preferred but not essential. Fluent user of Catia V5 is essential, V6 is a benefit. Advanced user of Excel / VBA is required too.The successful candidate will be well organised, structured and methodical in their approach with excellent understanding issue resolution, and excellent collaborator with an ability to liaise and support to achieve a clear target. This new position is a great opportunity for someone who wants to develop the role from scratch.
