Renault Sport Racing have an excellent opportunity to join our team at a tremendously exciting time in our history within Formula 1. As we continue to grow as a team, we are looking for a highly talented individual to join the Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) group at Renault Sport as a Computational Scientist. This key position will focus on the development of the advanced CFD software and systems we deploy to help our aerodynamics team develop the on-track performance of our car faster than our competitors.

The Role

You will work to invent, improve and optimise our simulation software, systems and processes to build a world leading aerodynamics design capability. This will involve integrating hardware and software to work robustly and efficiently on our state-of-the-art HPC resources, based on site here at Enstone.

The successful candidate will ideally have a formal background in software development and have several years’ professional experience in this field. Extensive knowledge of writing software in python and C++ on a Linux platform is expected, along with experience of process automation, performance testing and compiler optimisation. Experience of common HPC technologies (such as MPI, job schedulers), OpenFOAM, web technologies, SQL, CI/CD, VTK would also be beneficial to the role.

The Person

We are looking for individuals that can demonstrate technical competence as well as a collaborative, creative and proactive approach. Previous experience of HPC and CFD is helpful but not essential, we believe the right attitude and drive to succeed is vital to our success.

The candidate will be organised, methodical and demonstrate the ability to communicate complex ideas with clarity and articulate challenging concepts in understandable terms.

The successful candidate will have a proven track record of creative thinking, and have demonstrated the ability to consistently deliver high-quality results, under pressure and within tight timescales.
