Optimise the chassis and suspension systems

Directly derived from the suspension systems used by Renault Sport in rallying, this hydraulic stop technology involves integrating a "shock absorber within the shock absorber": when subjected to substantial levels of compression, such as driving over a speed bump or on an uneven, poor quality road surface, a secondary piston takes over before the shock absorber fully reaches its travel limit and hits the bump stop.

Energy is therefore dissipated rather than being transferred to the wheels, as would be the case with a conventional rubber stop. This device helps to avoid – or mitigate – any abrupt rebound and pendulum effects, constantly improving the level of contact between the tyres and the ground.

Instilling a sense of confidence whilst making driving easy and comfortable, the hydraulic stops are highly appreciated by sports driving enthusiasts, both on the racetrack and the open road. The additional comfort also makes everyday driving a more pleasurable experience.

This innovation was initially implemented on Clio R.S. on the two front wheels and then rolled out on Mégane R.S. and Mégane R.S. Trophy on all four wheels, delivering greater efficiency in all circumstances.
