LEAD FROM THE FRONT
Best-in-class performance
The Renault Mégane R.S. Trophy brings all of Renault Sport's experience of motorsports technologies to an exclusive production sports car. The onboard equipment is best-in-class and offers a set of new driving aids to cope with any road under any conditions.
The R.S. Drive lets you choose from Normal and Sport modes but it is Race mode that really brings the Megane R.S. Trophy alive. With each mode, you will feel the difference in the gearbox mapping, ESP behaviour, steering and sensitivity of the accelerator pedal. Steering wheel paddles on the EDC option make gear changes ultra-fast. And Launch Control – with left foot on the brake, right foot on the accelerator – releases a surge of adrenaline as you come off the brake for a start worthy of any Grand Prix.
The Cup chassis of the Mégane R.S. Trophy features uprated shock absorbers, springs and anti-roll bars. These are 25%, 30% and 10% stiffer respectively, bringing reassuring predictabity and stability. The Torsen® limited slip differential is standard, smoothing out power delivery to the wheels under extreme conditions to improve acceleration, cornering speed and braking.
Hydraulic compression stops on the Mégane R.S. Trophy, borrowed from the demanding world of rallying, are added to each shock absorber to dampen the bump before they reach full compression. This avoids any rebound and pendulum effects, helping keep each tyre in contact with the ground to produce notable improvement, whatever the road or track throws at you.
Our engineers have customised the Renault 4CONTROL system even more for the unique demands and higher speeds of the Mégane R.S. Trophy. By turning the rear wheels in sync with what’s happening at the front ones, the car feels glued to the road. At low speeds, the 4CONTROL system brings outstanding agility in tight turns, great for parking or mountain hairpins. At higher speeds, it makes for impressive stability when cornering or fighting for position on the track.
