With its ultra-powerful braking and a high number of possible suspension settings, New MÉGANE R.S. TROPHY-R is getting closer and closer to a race car, built for the road but designed for the track. Key to this is a chassis featuring stiffer springs and a lower anti-roll value to deliver better grip in corners and improved traction when putting down power.
The chassis of New MÉGANE R.S. TROPHY-R features a Torsen® limited slip differential and a geometry all of its own. The independent front axis suspension with increased negative camber compared to the standard Mégane R.S. Trophy brings it into racing car territory, adding more surface contact for the tyres when cornering. The lightweight rear axle also benefits from a specific new design that increases negative camber and toe-in. Add in Öhlins two-way adjustable dampers and it’s a car for experienced drivers, who can benefit from the ultimate in performance, as seen by its Nürburgring record-breaking appearance.
GO FASTER, STOP FASTER
New MÉGANE R.S. TROPHY-R has, as standard, the bi-material grooved discs 355mm diameter of the Mégane R.S. Trophy, which are even more effective on the lighter car. An ultra-exclusive option are 390mm carbon-ceramic front discs with Brembo Gold calipers, an ultra-high performance braking system that necessitated the development of a new ABS/ESP set-up. The result is confidence-inspiring braking that is firmer and more reliable.
