Renault F1 Team will start today’s Japanese Grand Prix with Nico Hülkenberg fifteenth and Daniel Ricciardo sixteenth following a gusty qualifying session at Suzuka Circuit.

Nico Hülkenberg, #27, R.S.19-04, Q: P15, 1:30.112
“It was a shame not to put a lap in on new tyres in Q2. It looks like we had a loss of hydraulic pressure and we had to abandon our final run, even if getting into Q3 was looking challenging. We’ll see what we can do from fifteenth on the grid, we’ll keep our heads down and get on with it.”

Daniel Ricciardo, #3, R.S.19-02, Q: P16, 1:29.882
“It’s disappointing to go out in Q1, but it is what it is. It was a short morning and there wasn’t too much time to get it right, especially having had to abort twice. I’m not sure where exactly we missed out, but it felt like we’re a bit off the pace. Conditions are tricky out there, you can feel the wind, but it’s the same for everyone. We’ll try and recover in the race.”
