Held against the backdrop of the COP22, the Marrakesh ePrix highlighted the contribution of Formula E to the development of zero-emission mobility. Sébastien Buemi delighted Renault’s guests by securing a fantastic win in his Renault Z.E.16!

After Paris in 2015, this year it is the turn of Marrakesh to host the United Nations Climate Change Conference. The Renault-Nissan Alliance is an active partner at COP22, since a fleet of 50 electric vehicles has been provided to the delegations for travel during the conference. The Alliance’s contribution to sustainable development is also being displayed at various exhibitions and conferences.

On Saturday, the "Red City" hosted the second round of the 2016-2017 FIA Formula E Championship. There was a lot of excitement in and around the Renault e.dams pit garage, since Renault Morocco and Renault Portugal had invited employees, customers, journalists, dealers and VIPs to look behind the scenes at a Formula E race.

After meeting with Alain Prost and the other members of the team, the guests learned first hand about the potential of the Z.E. vehicles as they enjoyed a track experience in a Twizy or ZOE.

Before the start of the race, the Renault Electric Show – performed by a squadron of highly-charged ZOEs – rounded off proceedings and fired up the atmosphere in the stands. The race itself was a great success for Renault, as Sébastien Buemi finished first and Nicolas Prost claimed fourth place! The season resumes in February of next year in the streets of Buenos Aires…
