Red Bull Racing-Renault to start from pole in Bahrain

Sebastian Vettel will start tomorrow’s Bahrain Grand Prix from pole position after a brilliant last lap of the Sakhir International Circuit.

The German set a time of 1min32.422, just 0.098secs ahead of Lewis Hamilton. Red Bull team mate Mark Webber lines up third, with Jenson Button just behind.
Chinese GP winner Nico Rosberg starts fifth with Toro Rosso driver Daniel Ricciardo sixth.

Lotus F1 Team-Renault’s Romain Grosjean qualified in seventh, while Kimi Raikkonen just failed to make the cut for Q3 and starts 11th.

Williams F1 Team will line up with Bruno Senna 15th, however Pastor Maldonado did not conduct any Q2 running after his FW34 developed a KERS issue. The Venezuelan will also serve a five place grid penalty for changing his gearbox yesterday.

Caterham F1 Team had a strong day, with Heikki Kovalainen making the grade for Q2. The Finn will start from 16th position while team-mate Vitaly Petrov set the 20th quickest time.
