New horizons for the Renault Sport R.S. 01
Unveiled at the Moscow Motorshow in 2014, the Renault Sport R.S 01 – concept car with exceptional performance – immediately won over fans of first-rate sports cars and the motor racing world. Given its outstanding performance, the decision was made to create a dedicated category: the Renault Sport Trophy.
Three years after this presentation, the 30 models found owners, proving how seductive it was and its extraordinary qualities made this vehicle a racing “beast” without rival.
Always in total agreement about the intrinsic qualities of the Renault Sport R.S 01, the Renault Sport Trophy competitors were provided a prestigious showcase in an extremely competitive discipline. After two seasons, the Renault Sport Trophy cedes its role as a starting point in order to allow the Renault Sport R.S 01 to take part in other championship, most notably with the help of a GT3 kit developed by Renault Sport Racing in partnership with the promoters.
The Renault Sport R.S. 01 could thus compete in the 24 Hour Series, V de V, Blancpain Clubsport, GT Open, etc. It has already won the 2015 500 kilometres of Zandvoort and the 2016 12 Hours of Mugello.
