As a prelude to the return of the French Grand Prix, the Renault Sport Formula One Team made stops in eight cities in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur region during its #RSsurlaroute tour last May. To wrap this up, Renault Sport Academy driver Sacha Fenestraz made his debut in a Formula 1TM car alongside the jets of the Patrouille de France.

While this first taste thrilled the fans, Sacha Fenestraz made the most of the occasion to fulfil his dream. Even before the start of the FIA European Formula 3 Championship, the Franco-Argentinean put in his first run in F1TM on the tarmac of the Salon-de-Provence 701 airbase!

Representing Renault Sport Formula One Team versus eight Alpha Jets of the Patrouille de France, Sacha Fenestraz brilliantly met several challenges against his competitors of the day before putting in several stylish figures while the PAF acrobats were doing likewise in the air.

“I will never forget this amazing experience”, explains the 2017 Formula Renault Eurocup winner. “To drive an F1 car is something I have always dreamt about. With 800hp for 580kg, it pushes very hard and the sensations are incredible when you step hard the throttle! The car itself isn’t especially difficult to drive with the traction control. On the other hand, you have to pay close attention to the temperatures that tend to increase very quickly. It was really one of the best days of my life and I want to thank Renault Sport Formula One Team for this opportunity.”
