On Mégane GT, when driving at under 80kph in Sport mode and under 60kph in the other modes, the rear wheels turn in the opposite direction to the front wheels. The car handles as if it had a shorter wheelbase, offering more precise and dynamic handling. Above these speeds, the rear wheels turn in the same direction as the front wheels. This system therefore improves cornering stability.
Furthermore, the Sport mode enables the steering wheel angle to be reduced by 40% compared with a Mégane not equipped with the 4Control system. Combined with the steering set-up, accelerator pedal mapping, and engine and gearbox configuration, these settings enable drivers to adopt a dynamic, yet controlled style.
