Sometimes as young as 16, the drivers in the Formula Renault Eurocup field are confronted with an extremely competitive environment in which they will learn the basics of their trade : how to handle the pressure of competition while getting the most out of their single-seater : This is where the drivers learn the bases !

The average age of drivers breaking into Formula One has fallen considerably in the last few years, with the result that the quality and the duration of the apprenticeships they serve on the way up have also been reviewed. Created more than 45 years ago, Formula Renault has since developed in response to the needs of drivers hailing from karting and entry-level series.

A lot of great champions such as Alain Prost, Jacques Laffite, Jean Ragnotti, Kimi Raïkkönen, Lewis Hamilton, Sebastian Vettel, Daniel Ricciardo, etc. started their career with a Formula Renault serie.

Also boasting a 210bhp engine and a sequential gearbox with steering wheel-mounted controls, it offers very high performance. Something of a single-seater academy, Formula Renault gives drivers every opportunity to demonstrate their talents.

Depending on their background, 3 series are at the disposal of the young drivers :
Formula Renault NEC and Formula Renault ASIA could be the stepping stone before to compete in the flagship Formula Renault Eurocup.

The duration of each of the season’s races is 25 minutes plus one lap, giving drivers no time to pause for breath. From the moment the lights go out to the appearance of the chequered flag, it is all about attacking.
