The world of Renault Sport at R.S. Performance e-shop

With more than 120 years of experience, including 40 years at the forefront of Formula 1™ racing, Renault Sport is renowned for creating impressive performance. Renault’s success on the track makes its way down to its production cars, some of which include technology borrowed directly from the world of racing. Renault’s overall success, it could be said, is the result of the close collaboration between Renault Sport Cars engineers and Renault Sport Racing.

The technology that regularly proves its worth on the racetrack has really come into its own in the brand’s hottest ever hatch, the new Mégane R.S. Trophy-R that driver Laurent Hurgon has recently taken on a record-breaking tour. The pairing has left motorsport fans open-mouthed across the world, bagging a FWD record at Germany’s Nürburgring and best lap times at Belgium’s Spa-Francorchamps, Japan’s Suzuka track, and Australia’s Bend Motorsport Park (with TCR Australia driver James Moffat at the wheel) – all in under a year’s time.

For those looking to emulate those successes, the double-diamond brand opened a new e-shop for Renault Sport Performance accessories at the beginning of 2019. Here fans can acquire exclusive track or road certified items, some of which boast Team Renault F1® colours, and others which reflect the wide range of Renault Sport models.

Some R.S. Performance pieces are particularly adapted for use on the track and have been developed specifically by the engineering teams at Renault Sport, with both current and older R.S. models in mind.

The Mégane R.S. Trophy-R has acted as a testing ground for some of these pieces, some of which were directly taken and adapted from the original version. Other pieces are specifically developed for everyday driving, benefiting from Renault Sport’s “from track to road” philosophy.

In such cases, development of the accessories is similar to what it would be for competition vehicles, thanks to a direct collaboration between R.S. engineers and Renault Sport test driver Laurent Hurgon, the man behind the wheel of three of the four Trophy-R track records.

Although the 100-strong collection is largely inspired by the Clio IV R.S. and the Mégane IV R.S., accessories for a range of other models are also available in the e-shop. The huge R.S. community is rewarded for its loyalty with a range of accessories designed for older models such as the Clio III R.S. and the Mégane III R.S. meaning the shop celebrates the entire gamut of motorsports, whether old and new.

Drivers can also look the part thanks Renault Sport jumpsuits, helmets and gloves and hoods; and a wide range of apparel is available for adults and children. The ‘professionals’ aren’t left out either thanks to specially tailored equipment such as paint guns and a Facom workstation that includes spot lighting and a Bluetooth® speaker allowing people to recreate the whole paddock experience. The kit can even be complemented by a specially designed workshop jumpsuit.

From simple key-rings to a kit to pimp your own workshop, as well as pieces developed in small exclusive runs (some even made to order), even the most hardened fans will find something to love.
