Renault Sport Academy Driver Sacha Fenestraz secured two podium finishes and a pole position to get his FIA European Formula 3 Championship back on track at round six in Silverstone.
Sacha recorded a second pole position of the season in the first qualifying session, finishing the opening race in second for his first podium finish since winning in Pau at the season-opener.
From sixth on the grid in race two, Sacha ended seventh for a handful of points. He started the third and final race of the weekend in third place, gaining a position at turn one and fell narrowly short of the race win after a cool and composed drive.
Sacha remains 11th in the Drivers’ Championship and fifth rookie, but 42 points over the weekend sees him significantly close the gap to those ahead of him.
The French-Argentine teen is back in action next weekend for round seven of the series in Misano.
Sacha Fenestraz: “It was a solid weekend and I’m pleased with the results. We weren’t in the top ten at the last few rounds and now we’re back up there and on the podium. We’ve identified some problems, especially with qualifying pace, which we put right this weekend. The hard work we’ve put in has paid off with the results and I’m pretty happy with that!”
